Who knew Nashville was so cool? I’m not much of a country music fan, so my primary interest in stopping there on our way back from Florida was in reconnecting with some college friends. But this pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River was an amazing place to go for a run while we were there.
At the base of the downtown side is the Bongo Java Café, which links to the Johnny Cash Museum, and the Goo-Goo Shop, home of Nashville’s famous Goo-Goo Clusters candy bar. Across the river is the Tennessee Titans’ stadium. And just a block away is the Country Music Hall of Fame. (I thought I was being a good sport in agreeing to go there, appeasing my kids and an old friend who needed to do some research for her Walk Eat Nashville tours, recently written up in the New York Times. But I was completely blown away by its current exhibit, “Dylan & Cash & the Nashville Cats.”)
