This has become our go-to breakfast on Mondays and Tuesdays when I’m already at work by the time the kids get up for school. It’s super easy. I put the ingredients together the night before, and Bob dumps everything in a well-greased crockpot (set to low) before he goes to bed around 11:30 p.m.
I turn the crock pot down to the “warm” setting around 4 a.m., and by 6, when the kids start waking for school, it’s good to go.
The recipe (serves 6)
4 apples, diced or sliced thinly
5 cups apple juice
3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
2 T brown sugar
2 t. cinnamon
