A kid’s point of view: Valentine’s Day

By Colleen, age 11 (as dictated to Mom, under the circumstances)

colleenHappy Valentine’s Day! I hope yours is better than mine. I threw up at school yesterday and four times since — including in the car on the way home. No school for me today, and no Valentine’s Party, either.

The bad news is, I won’t get to eat any Valentine’s treats today. The good news: Now I might as well save it until Sunday, after we weigh in for our family weight-loss contest. It will taste much better then than it would today!

Cassie- I’m so sorry you are sick- been there, barfed that. Last time threw up so much I got fuzzy brained and dehydrated and Caroline had to take me to the ER! First and last time for that, I hope! You won’t have to deal with that though- you’ve got a stomach bug and at your age it’s miserable but short. You would have laughed, though – I kept looking for my insurance card and wouldn’t get in the car. Mike was away and finally a very patient Caroline called the ER and they assured me I could come in anyway. I wobbled out to the car…. Poor Caroline! 🙂

We should have brought you chicken soup instead of candy!!!
