A kid’s point of view: Weight lifting

By Colleen, age 11

On Sunday I finished up my Youth Fit sessions and got approved to use the weight machines at the YMCA. The whole YMCA is now available to me! Before, it was just the aerobic machines.

My brother Ben was my trainer on Tuesday. Turns out I can bench press 50 pounds! That does not seem like much, but Ben says there are not that many girls in his grade (10th) that can do that. I never knew there were so many different machines that work so many different parts of the body!

Me and my cousins trick-or-treating last night. In front are my cousin Monroe on the right and her friend Celia. Back row, from left, my cousin Madison, my baby cousin Kyla and Uncle Brent (he was a pirate and she was a parrot), me as Einstein and my sister Cassie as a werewolf.
