Before I lost 90 pounds back in 2010:
— Peanut buster parfait or Oreo blizzard from Dairy Queen
— Quarter pounder with cheese, medium fries, Diet Coke
— As many handfuls of peanut M&Ms as I could plausibly get away with
— An entire row of sandwich cookies
— A six-pack of Reese Peanut Butter Eggs
Now:
— A low-fat, soft serve vanilla ice cream cone
— A 1-ounce package of cashews, acting as the French Fry stand-in to go with my veggie burger on a Slimwich.
— A generous handful of dates
— When raspberries are on sale for a buck a box, getting a whole container all for myself.
— A tablespoon of peanut butter spread over a Slimwich, topped with 12 semi-sweet chocolate chips.
I like the last ones.
Guess what I found out? I no longer have an aversion to yogurt! I can finally eat it now without a physical reaction. . . so now every day I eat yogurt with strawberries and blueberries in it. I’m thinking that’s better than a big sandwich or something else less planned. It’s stupid, but this is huge to me!
That’s great! I don’t know what I’d do without Greek yogurt. I’ve always liked yogurt, but regular yogurt doesn’t have the “staying power” for me that G-yo does. I really think most days I’d take a Greek yogurt with berries over ice cream. (Not EVERY day, but most days.)
Me too. Far less guilt!
