Aunt Millie’s Slimwiches are a great way to save calories on a burger bun, but they can do so many other great impersonations for the dietarily desperate. Have you tried any of these?
1. Diet donut
Stuff the interior with a tablespoon of either peanut butter or your favorite jam, spread Fat Free Cool Whip on the top and drizzle with chocolate syrup. It tastes almost as good as a real donut, only much more filling.
2. Mini pepperoni pizza
Turkey pepperoni is just 4.5 calories a slice, so live it up — you can only do much damage with one of these guys, especially if you use Parmesan cheese.
3. Frosted donut with sprinkles
When we have leftover frosting that’s calling my name, I spread 1 tablespoon on a Slimwich and add some sprinkles for a controlled splurge.
4. Instant pancakes
OK, my kids think I’m nuts every time they see me do this, but if you split a Slimwich in two, pop it in the microwave and pour syrup over the top, these guys do look an awful lot like — and taste somewhat similar to — a really basic batch of pancakes.
