Here’s another nomination for my “dragon sandwiches” collection, a list of extremely low-calorie sandwiches that don’t really have anything at all to do with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, other than it stirred up my imagination as to how a couple of svelte Europeans could possibly get away with eating so many platters of sandwiches in a single book.
The “Dragon Dog” is nothing more than a 45-calorie all-white-meat turkey frank on an 80-calorie Aunt Millie’s Whole Grain hot dog bun, along with a little mustard (not pictured).
This sandwich contains 125 calories, 10 grams of protein, 24 carbs, 1 gram of fat and 5 grams of fiber, for a total of 3 Weight Watchers points.
(As opposed to an Oscar Mayer beef frank on a Walmart Great Value brand bun, which totals 315 calories, 10 grams of protein, 24 carbs, 17.5 grams of fat and a single gram of fiber — or 8 Weight Watchers points.)
