Grandma Linda’s frozen fruit

Grandma Linda’s frozen fruit is a family favorite. It’s on the menu of almost every gathering at my parents’ house, was a hit at Rowan’s graduation party and was even toted in a cooler on a family trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn.

So how does she make it, anyway? Here’s her secret recipe:

1 24-ounce container Kroger Private Selection frozen sliced strawberries with sugar or Splenda

3 15-ounce cans mandarin oranges, drained

1 20-ounce can pineapple tidbits with juice

4 or 5 bananas, sliced

1 cup Sunny D orange beverage

“I just mix it all up and pour it in a 9 by 12 freezer box, so it’s easy to thaw out,” she says. “But a lot of times I make two or three batches at once, so maybe it makes more than that. I’m not really sure.”
